Raffaello Bianco worked at the Ruđer Bošković Institute’s Division of Theoretical Physics in Zagreb from November 2021 to October 2022, serving as a research associate at the equivalent of associate-professor level. He pursued theoretical and computational condensed-matter physics, particularly first-principles methods for describing phonons, structural phase transitions, and strongly anharmonic materials.
During this period, he presented research on quantum anharmonic effects and nonlinear electron–phonon coupling, building on his work as a developer of the Stochastic Self-Consistent Harmonic Approximation.
Raffaello was a research associate in the Modelling and Theory of Materials Group from 2021 to 2022.
